Introducing HCI’s AI-Driven Fall Risk Mitigation Program
HCI’s AI-Driven Fall Risk Mitigation Program combines data from multiple integrated systems to create a powerful, real-time fall risk management solution. Leveraging advanced AI and seamless data integration, our program enhances patient safety and fall prevention across healthcare facilities.
Here's how it works in a Real-World Scenario:
Imagine an elderly patient being transferred from the ER to the Med-Surg floor. Upon transfer, the nurse performs a falls risk assessment on the HCI Digital Whiteboard during her initial round. HCI’s system immediately reports this data back to the EMR, and a fall risk order is automatically added to the patient’s record.
Upon receiving the Fall Risk Order, the HCI system automatically creates a work order for the care team to arm the smart bed, ensuring continuous monitoring of patient movement. Before leaving the room, the nurse verifies the smart bed is armed. From that point forward, HCI’s AI begins continuously monitoring the bed for potential fall risks.
Soon after, the patient triggers a bed exit alert.
Instantly, HCI’s AI initiates a video conference session between the patient and a nurse stationed in a virtual monitoring hub, allowing for immediate intervention and patient guidance. Simultaneously, a work order is generated, and notifications are sent to the Unit Status Board, Digital Door Signs, and to the care team.
HCI’s system also identifies the nearest caregivers through RTLS technology and alerts them to the situation, ensuring a rapid, coordinated response.
- Smart Bed Data Integration: Our AI continuously analyzes data from integrated smart beds to monitor patient movement, automatically triggering alerts when a patient is at risk of falling. This real-time analysis enables immediate interventions by healthcare staff.
- Virtual Nursing & AI Monitoring: HCI’s virtual nursing solutions, enhanced with AI, offer constant remote monitoring and support. The AI intelligently prioritizes patients based on fall risk, allowing nurses to manage multiple patients while ensuring immediate action when high-risk situations arise.
- RTLS Integration: HCI’s system leverages RTLS technology to track the real-time location of caregivers. When a bed exit alert is triggered, the system automatically identifies the nearest available caregivers and alerts them, enabling a swift response to prevent potential falls.
- AI-Enhanced Rounding & Data Integration: By combining data from smart beds, EMR systems, and other hospital technologies, our AI-driven platform provides real-time insights into patient status. This enables healthcare providers to dynamically adjust their rounding and fall prevention efforts, focusing attention on the highest-risk patients when it matters most.
Our AI-powered solution ensures that fall risk management is smarter, faster, and more accurate, improving outcomes and patient safety across the board. This seamless integration of data, technology, and AI enhances the care experience and ensures that every high-risk event is addressed in real time, preventing falls and keeping patients safe.
